DAY 1-4 

TOKYO 

On arrival you will be met by our local representative and transferred to your hotel where you'll spend the next 4 nights. 
 
Experience the energy of Shibuya Scramble Crossing, the world’s busiest crosswalk, or opt for a more relaxed afternoon exploring local bars, cafes, and shopping markets. 
 
Take part in a full day tour around the most famous sightseeing spots around Tokyo. You'll visit include the buzzing neighbourhoods of Akihabara and Harajuku, as well as the Buddhist temple of Sensoji. 
 
Embark on a delicious journey through Japan, where every bite tells a story! From fresh sushi and steaming bowls of ramen to crispy tempura and sizzling yakitori, this food tour takes you to hidden local gems and bustling markets.  
 
Explore Asakusa, home to the iconic Sensō-ji Temple and bustling Nakamise Street. Take a peaceful stroll through the Imperial Palace Gardens or visit the serene Meiji Shrine, a grand Shinto sanctuary nestled within the vibrant energy of Harajuku. 
 
 
DAY 5 

TSUMAGO 

Board an express train to Nagoya, where you’ll transfer to a high-speed bullet train bound for Tsumago.  
 
The entire journey takes approximately three hours.  
 
Upon arrival, settle into your traditional ryokan, a charming Japanese inn, in this peaceful former post town. The remainder of the day is yours to unwind or begin discovering the town’s beautifully preserved streets and historic atmosphere.

DAY 6-7 

TAKAYAMA 

Venture deeper into the Japanese Alps to reach Takayama, a charming town known for its historic merchant quarter and traditional sake breweries. The scenic train ride takes approximately four and a half hours, offering a glimpse of Japan’s breath-taking mountain landscapes along the way. 
 
Discover the timeless charm of Takayama on a guided tour through its historic streets and lively markets. Stroll through the well-preserved merchant district, where Edo-period buildings house local shops and sake breweries offering tastings of Japan’s finest rice wine. Explore the Takayama Jinya, a former government outpost, and soak in the town’s rich history and culture. Whether wandering through traditional markets or savouring local delicacies, Takayama offers an authentic glimpse into old Japan.

DAY 8-9 

KANAZAWA 

Travel to Kanazawa, a city renowned for Kenrokuen, one of Japan’s most breathtaking gardens. To experience a more modern side of the city, consider beginning your visit at the impressive 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, where cutting-edge exhibits showcase innovative works from around the world. 
 
Immerse yourself in its rich history and culture. Wander through Kenrokuen Garden, one of Japan’s most stunning landscapes, before visiting the Kanazawa Castle ruins nearby. Stroll through the Higashi Chaya District, a beautifully preserved geisha quarter lined with traditional wooden teahouses. Discover the city’s samurai heritage in the Nagamachi district, where earthen-walled lanes lead to former samurai residences. DAY 10-12 

KYOTO 

Journey east to Kyoto, Japan’s former capital and cultural gem, with a two-hour bullet train ride. Join a knowledgeable local guide to maximize your time in this diverse and historic city. You might choose to wander through the serene Ryoanji gardens and admire the elegant Silver Pavilion, or explore the atmospheric streets of Gion at night where you may even catch a glimpse of a geisha gracefully making her way through the district. 
 
Take part in a local cooking class. On this tour, learn how to make ramen from scratch at a local ramen factory, including making the noodles, mixing the soup, and adding the toppings. Finish by enjoying your delicious bowl of home-cooked ramen.  
 
Visit Fushimi Inari Shrine, famous for its endless pathways of vibrant orange torii gates winding up the hillside. Later, take a 45-minute train journey to Nara, where you can marvel at the majestic Todaiji Temple, home to the towering Great Buddha, and stroll through Nara Park, where friendly deer roam freely.

DAY 13-15 

HIROSHIMA 

Catch the train to Hiroshima. The rest of your day can be spent at your leisure, we suggest walking to the city and exploring the local delicacies as well as some of the most famous sights in the whole of Japan. 
 
Explore Hiroshima's highlights and hidden gems with a professional local guide and visit iconic landmarks like the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park and Atomic Bomb Dome, explore the bustling downtown area, and discover the tranquillity of Shukkeien Garden. 
 
Experience the spiritual beauty of Miyajima and Itsukushima Shrine, and venture off the beaten path to uncover secret spots known only to locals.  
 
 
 
DAY 16-17 

OSAKA 

Experience the vibrant energy of Osaka, Japan’s culinary capital, with two unforgettable nights in this dynamic city. Visit to the magnificent Osaka Castle, surrounded by serene parkland, before diving into the buzzing streets of Dotonbori. Here, neon lights reflect off the canal as food stalls tempt you with local favourites like takoyaki and okonomiyaki. DAY 18-19 

MOUNT FUJI 

Discover the serenity and natural splendour of Japan’s most iconic landmark with two peaceful nights in the Mount Fuji region.  
 
Cruise across Lake Ashi for breath-taking views of Fuji’s snow-capped peak, then ride the Hakone Ropeway over volcanic valleys and sulphur vents for a truly unforgettable panorama. Spend the afternoon exploring art in nature at the Hakone Open-Air Museum, home to works by Picasso and other masters framed by mountain landscapes.  
 
Visit Lake Kawaguchiko, and stroll through peaceful lakeside trails or visit Oishi Park, known for its postcard-perfect views and seasonal blooms.
