Dear Manoj

While we are sitting poolside at Taru Villa Bentota I thought now would be the perfect time to drop you a note, hopefully you may use it for any ‘clients comments’ areas you have set up.

From the moment Rajith our guide welcomed us at the arrivals hall until this poolside moment, Karen & I have truly had the most memorable, seamless and stress free vacation in all the years we have travelled together (many many).

It would be too long a read to mention all the highlights of our time here but one of 2 things stand out:

1) The quality of each of the 5 hotels you have booked for us was exceptional. Cinnamon Lodge was a fabulous starting point, great room, attentive service (once our early check in issues were over) and fabulous buffet to cater for so many guests. Kandy for 1 night was also extremely high standard. Then on to Grand Lodge, although the room was not up to the other hotels the history, staff and restaurant were 1st class, plus we did not travel to Sri Lanka for the room so this was not a major downside for us.

98 Acres in Ella was eye opening and jaw dropping. From the view from our room, to the wonderful service and culinary delights offered at the restaurant this hotel was something unique and very special.

Then in to this little gem in Bentota. We thought 98 Acres would be hard to beat but this place has is the epitome of calm and making their guests feel so special. Having now walked the spectacular shoreline and sipping our cocktail and beer at poolside it could not be a more perfect place to finish our trip.

2) It cannot go without mention the attention to detail our wonderful guide Rajith gave. We did at first wonder how things would work being with a guide for 9-10 days but it didn’t take us long to figure out how lucky we were to have him with us. He wasn’t just a guide, he was our chauffeur, professor of all things Sri Lankan, totally punctual and trustworthy, went out of his way to find me the best currency exchange companies, our bodyguard, entertainer and in the end we have found a new friend.

I realise these guys maybe aren’t remunerated particularly well but this guy needs to be looked after by your Sri Lankan counterpart or they may lose him to a competitor. He is a walking one man Sri Lankan tourist board. We did give him a token of our appreciation and can only hope the agency he works for over here give him enough work so other lucky visitors can benefit from spending time with him. He was our angel and he really did make the whole trip special for us. I could not be more sincere of how we felt of him.

So thank you for going out of your way in making this a special trip for us, you said it would be the trip of a lifetime and that’s how it felt all along.

We shall definitely be singing your praises to friends and family and hope to travel again with you some day.

We have nothing but the highest of praise for Tailored Journeys. Personally recommended by my brother, I did not know what to expect as we have never had a holiday planned for us before-and we couldn't have been happier or more delighted with the whole experience. Manoj made it easy for us-our 40th wedding anniversary celebration-we knew we wanted a safari with a beach finish, but little else! Having patiently steered us through choices, we narrowed it to Kenya and Zanzibar, and Tailored journeys designed the trip of a lifetime! From the moment we were met at the airport in Nairobi, until we returned to fly home, everything ran smoothly-it felt as if we didn't have to think for ourselves! All pre-arranged excursions, lodges, game drives, transfers etc worked like a dream- exactly as set out in our itinerary. Manoj even 'checked in' via WhatsApp part way through to see if all was ok! I cant really comment on 'hitches' as we didn't really have any-but I know they would have been easily sorted by Tailored Journeys had they occurred. I needed tips on just about everything, as we have never been to Africa before, and Manoj was always responsive to my frequent emails or phone calls- no matter how daft my questions must have seemed! I cant recommend more highly!

From our initial meetings, Manoj and his team planned out our itinerary that met our needs exactly with planned excursions and side trips woven into our holiday in New Zealand & French Polynesia.

Everything was organised for us; flights, transfers, hotels, excursions - all we did was turn up and not having to fret or worry about anything.

Tailored Journeys is relatively small and intimate, but highly professional, supported by a staff who are knowledgeable and experienced who cover all continents.

I can't recommend Tailored Journeys highly enough. I'd not used a travel agent to book a holiday for about 30 years, but Manoj and team reminded me why it's SO worth it. They created the MOST wonderful 2-week holiday for us in Sri Lanka, suggesting a fabulous itinerary tailored completely to our likes, dislikes and budget. The team and our guide on the ground (Siraj) was just the best - we got so much more joy out of the holiday than if we'd gone on our own, being gently encouraged to experience everything there was to see, taste and feel. I just wanted to drop you a note to say a HUGE thank you for your careful organisation of our trip to Costa Rica. We arrived home yesterday and whilst we are all still very much in a jet lagged fog, we are all totally overwhelmed by what a perfect trip it was. I can only imagine how tedious it was to pull our itinerary together, especially when we kept changing our minds(!), but it was all totally worthwhile and resulted in the most perfect trip. And what an amazing country!

The wildlife and scenery was utterly breath-taking and I'm so glad we got to experience it in so many ways - from the tiny planes, to driving ourselves around, to zooming along on high zip wires and hurtling down white water in a raft...

Tailored Journeys is a brilliant travel agent, Manoj and the team can’t be more helpful. Manoj started by giving us an itinerary based on our initial request which we then fined tuned until we got the trip and the price exactly right with the help of the team. Our booking was an amazing trip which included a personal tour around Sri Lanka and then finished up in the Maldives. The trip itself was booked as our honeymoon but due to Covid we had to postpone the trip. Manoj was brilliant all the way through and no problem with returns etc like I heard about other agencies. We were told about Tailored Journeys by a colleague of mine when I asked about his Sri Lankan trip. On his recommendation we contacted Manoj and he put together an itinerary for us based on what we told him we were interested in. We left the UK on 6th March and returned on the 23rd just as the UK was closing down. The Si Lankan holiday was a wonderful experience with excellent hotels and organised expeditions and that was made even better by our driver/guide Sam who was a mine of information. The only draw-back was the cancellation of the Whale watching trip, but this was due to a government directive based on the Corona-19 pandemic. (Tailored Journeys’ refund was in our account within a couple of weeks without any problems, thanks). However, the most impressive aspect was the care and attention shown by Manoj and the people at Viluxur Holidays SL in monitoring the ongoing situation and keeping us informed and assured of what was happening both in Sri Lanka and the UK making it a stress free holiday.

We had never used a travel specialist before but having little knowledge of Sri Lanka we decided to give Manoj a try. We gave him a rough budget and no more guidance than about 10 days touring and 5 at the beach. He provided a great itinerary. We had our own driver, which we were very pleased about when we saw the traffic and the driving, until we reached the beach, fantastic half board accommodation and all tours included. It was definitely a 5 star experience. We had no hesitation in using him again for our forthcoming trip to South Africa.

We have had an excellent experience with Manoj and his team. we planned our holiday to Sri Lanka a couple of years ago; we wanted to change a few areas of the itinerary and this was accommodated with no problems at all by Tailored Journeys. We have just come back from another holiday organised by Manoj, this time to Mexico. A fantastic tour of the Mayan sites around Yukatan with a hugely knowledgeable guide, who also found us some cenotes away from the crowds which my teenagers loved. Our stay on Cozumel was very relaxing, much quieter than rest of the Caribbean coast of Mexico, the diving and snorkelling were superb but unfortunately cut short by a few days of wind.
