DAY 2-5

MASAI MARA

This morning, you will be met by your local guide at the hotel and transferred to Nairobi Wilson airport for your light aircraft flight to the mighty Masai Mara. Enjoy your first game drive on the way from the local airstrip to the fantastic Governor's Camp, your home for the next 4 nights.

Governors’ Camp nestles in the forest along the winding banks of the Mara River, in the heart of Kenya’s Masai Mara National Reserve - a prime wildlife viewing location.

Days on safari start early, heading out for morning game drives when the animals are generally at their most active, before the heat of the day, when it will be time to relax back at camp. Enjoy an afternoon game drive later on.

Accommodation: Governors' Camp

DAY 6-10

DONGWE, ZANZIBAR

Head out for one last game drive before leaving the "Mara" behind, as you take your light aircraft flight back to Nairobi Wilson Airport in time for your direct flight to Zanzibar.

On arrival in Zanzibar, you will be met and transferred to your hotel for your beach stay.

You can choose from a variety of optional activities while here, which your hotel can arrange for you, including:

Spice tour: Zanzibar is also known as the Spice Island - cloves, cinnamon, pepper, nutmeg, saffron and many other spices are a very important part of Zanzibar’s history. You will visit a plantation, savour the smells, and learn the history of the trade.
Stone Town tour: Walking through the labyrinth of narrow streets and winding alleyways in this UNESCO World Heritage site will feel like you’re going back in time. Enjoy the magnificent Arab/Indian architecture, bustling bazaars and many beautifully decorated mosques. Visit the famous House of Wonders, the former slave market, Freddie Mercury’s birth house, the old fort and much more.
Jozani Forest: This is the National Park of Zanzibar, and the largest forested area on the island. It is the only place where you can spot one of the rarest monkeys in the world: the endangered Red Colobus Monkey. The best time to visit Jozani Forest is after breakfast when the monkeys are still active - they can get a bit lazy in the afternoons!
Dhow trip: Head out to sea on a full day traditional dhow trip, with swimming, snorkelling and a seafood lunch.
Snorkelling trip: The crystal clear waters rich in corals and other marine life make for a perfect place to go snorkelling.
Prison Island: This former prison for rebellious slaves, which was later transformed into a hospital to serve as quarantine for sufferers of yellow fever, lies about 30 minutes by boat from Stone Town. Nowadays, Prison Island is home to an endangered species of tortoise.

Accommodation: Breezes Beach Club and Spa
