Arenal Observatory Lodge
OVERVIEW
The lodge is uniquely situated inside Arenal Volcano National Park, just 1.7 km from the volcano’s base.
48 rooms in several buildings (plus a few villas) spread across the property; many rooms offer direct views of the volcano and/or forest.
Extensive trail system (7–11 km) for walking/biking/horse-riding through rainforest, waterfalls and canopy zones; pool and jacuzzi also on site.
Excellent for birding (over 500 species recorded), howler monkeys, rainforest flora & fauna.
Approximately 22 km (40-minute drive) from La Fortuna town; access is along forest roads, given its quite remote and nature-immersed setting.
