DAY 1-3
HANOI
You will be greeted by a Tailored Journeys representative who will accompany you to your first hotel, the Sofitel Legend Metropole, one of our favourite hotels which is conveniently located for you to discover the nearby sites on foot.
Your guide will accompany you on a city tour of Hanoi. The sites visited will include Ho Chi Minh‘s Mausoleum, House and Cottage, One Pillar pagoda, Temple of Literature, Quan Thanh pagoda.
After enjoying lunch at a local restaurant, you'll visit the Old Quarter with a history that spans over 2,000 years. The Old Quarter started as an alligator-infested swamp but then transformed to be home to Vietnam’s craftsmen and is now a bustling square lovingly known as the eternal soul of Hanoi.
You'll also have a chance to understand what makes Hanoi's Old Quarter such a captivating place on an exciting food tour. Here, you will be able to taste a wide variety of Vietnamese specialities, such as banh cuon (steamed rolled rice pancake) and banh mi. Then, stop at a bia hoi (beer club) on Ta Hien Street and taste the fresh Vietnamese beer. After that, you will head to a pho shop, where you will be able to choose between regular pho or pho tron (pho noodle mixed with chicken without soup). Then, make your way along Hoan Kiem Lake for one of the tastiest ice creams in Hanoi.

DAY 4
HALONG BAY
This morning you will travel to Halong Bay and arrive late morning ready to embark on your overnight junk boat.
This world-famous bay is one of the most beautiful landscapes in Vietnam, with its giant rock islets covered in luxuriant vegetation overlooking the waters. Halong Bay includes some 1,900 islands and islets of rocky peaks, often uninhabited and unvisited. This scene creates a spectacular marine landscape, which earned it UNESCO World Heritage status in 1994.
You will be served lunch and dinner aboard with excellent and freshly caught seafood from the bay. At the end of the day, you will have the chance to enjoy a night fishing session on the boat.

DAY 5-7
HOI AN
On arrival in Danang, you will be met by our local representative and transferred to the unique Four Seasons Nam Hai hotel in Hoi An on a private stretch of one of Forbes’ “best beaches in the world.”
Explore Hoi An's ancient town, recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage site for its well-preserved century-old streets and houses. Take a bicycle ride through the rural scenery of Hoi An to Tra Que herb village, known for its aromatic herbs. Join in with the local farmers and observe their daily work of planting and picking vegetables. At lunch, you will have a chance to enjoy the village specialities: tam huu (small skewers of pork and prawns), various kinds of shrimps, pork and herbs, as well as six other dishes of the region.
During your stay in Hoi An, you can enjoy a cooking class, hosted by Chef Linh who will pick you up at the hotel and head to the market where you can be in the thick of the action as well as witness daily local life. Enjoy an iced coffee before heading to Chef Linh's home.
In the kitchen, she will demonstrate how to cook a dish of your choice. And when you have finished cooking your meal, enjoy it whilst listening to stories from Chef Linh's life.
You also have the option for a jeep tour to My Son. On the way, you will witness the fascinating lives of the local people: farmers who work in the rice fields, fishermen and merchants bringing their products to sell at vibrant and colourful markets. You can also chat with some locals when taking a break at a local coffee shop and see just how charming and friendly they are. The beautiful scenery of the region is another highlight of this activity, with luxuriant green forests, lush fields of rice and corn and slow flowing canals to see along the road. Eventually you will arrive at My Son complex, the holy land of Champa culture in Vietnam.

DAY 8-9
HO CHI MINH CITY
You will be transferred from your hotel in Hoi An to Da Nang Airport where you will catch a short 1 hour 20 minute flight down to Ho Chi Minh City.
You will be met on arrival and transferred to the Park Hyatt hotel in the centre of town. Your hotel is centrally located making visits to the former Saigon Post Office, Notre Dame Cathedral and the Opera House only a short stroll away.
Later today you will visit the unique Cu Chi tunnel network. This incredible system, covering almost 250km in length was shelter to over 16,000 Vietcong guerrillas during the wars.
Head to Ben Tre Province lso known as "Coconut Island", where many of its people still rely on tradition and centuries old methods of producing various goods.
On arrival, you will take a ride through the local villages to enjoy the green fields and gardens. Continue with your boat trip through small canals with beautiful tropical scenery.
The cruise first stops at a coconut processing workshop, a family owned business. Here you can learn what Ben Tre is known for and the hundreds of uses of each single coconut. Take a stroll to a local house to taste fresh fruits and tea and before boarding a sampan taking you through a lush narrow canal, displaying the tranquil nature of the region.

DAY 10-12
SIEM REAP
You will be accompanied to the local airport for your short flight to Siem Reap. You will be met on arrival and transferred to your hotel.
You will visit the magnificent Angkor Wat temple complex, starting off with Angkor Thom “the big city”. Magically emerging from nowhere, admire the massive curious smiling faces carved in stone - the Bayon Temple, built around the 12th - 13th century. This amazing building is surrounded by 54 towers, each of them adorned with 4 faces. After visiting the Bayon temple, you will travel to the Baphuon, a temple mountain built in the 11th century. Then, admire the Terrace of the Elephants, which with its length of 350 meters, was used for royal audiences and public ceremonies. Continue your visit to the Terrace of the Leper King, built in the 12th century, covered by magnificent Apsara sculptings.
After exploring the temples you will have the chance to enjoy a private and relaxing picnic lunch in a charming Khmer village timber house, away from the busy crowds.
In the afternoon, visit the most famous temple: Angkor Wat. Starting by the central aisle, you will realise soon how huge is it. You will finish the day by visiting Ta Prohm, a temple which has been eaten by the tropical nature, made famous from the Tomb Raider film.
Also visit Kompong Khleang, a village located 40 kilometers from Siem Reap. All the houses are on stilts offering an exceptional natural environment with breathtaking views. Depending on the season and the level of water, you will enjoy floodplains, rice fields and water as far as the eye can see or impressive stilted homes.

DAY 13-17
SONG SAA ISLAND
Today you'll leave Siem Reap and fly down to Sihanoukville, be picked up from the airport and transferred to the port to catch a short boat to the exclusive island of Song Saa where you'll spend the next 4 nights.
Song Saa Private Island is comprised of two exquisite little islands Koh Ouen and Koh Bong, fondly known as ‘the sweethearts’.
