About this itinerary  

This trip is the perfect itinerary for a family wanting to experience all that Cambodia has to offer along with a relaxing beach stay on the island of Koh Samui, Thailand at the end. 
 
Commencing your trip in Siem Reap, you will be accompanied by your own guide and will discover the iconic Angkor Wat Complex and be able to take part in a treasure hunt. You will have the opportunity to visit some of the more remote Temples of Angkor too. 
 
From Siem Reap you will you will make your way to Battambang where you will spend a couple of nights before finishing your Cambodia tour in Phnom Penh where you will discover all that the capital city has to offer. 
 
After your tour of Cambodia you will head down to the beautiful island of Koh Samui where you will spend the next week and remainder of your holiday! 

day 1-4 Siem Reap 

 
You will also visit the atmospheric Beng Mealea temple, hidden within the jungle where tree roots have gently wrapped themselves around the ancient stone structures. Lunch will be enjoyed at a traditional Cambodian house before returning to Siem Reap. 
 
An evening at Phare Ponleu Selpak offers an insight into Cambodia’s culture and creativity. Founded to support young Cambodians through artistic training, the performances are energetic, vibrant and suitable for all ages, bringing Cambodia’s stories and traditions to life. 
 
You will also have the chance to experience Cambodia through local family life. Enjoy a playful mini-golf experience inspired by the Angkor temples before travelling into the countryside, walking through rice fields and discovering a hidden temple tucked away in the forest. 
 
Continue to Trav Kod Lake where local Khmer families often spend their free time, with opportunities to swim seasonally, relax in hammocks or enjoy the play areas. 
 
Complete your time in Siem Reap with a hot air balloon experience offering beautiful views over the Angkor landscape from above. Along Road 60, discover Cambodia's vibrant local food scene as merchants set up their stalls selling fruits, noodles, skewers and local delicacies.

day 5-6 Battambang 

Continue your journey to Battambang, Cambodia’s second-largest city and one of the country's most charming regions. 
 
Along the way, stop at Tonle Sap Lake before continuing to Kompong Chhnang, located where the lake and waterways meet. Here, you will have the opportunity to visit local marble workshops and observe artisans crafting intricate sculptures. 
 
During your stay in Battambang, discover bustling local markets, elegant French colonial architecture and historic temples including Wat Tahm-rai-saw, also known as the White Elephant Temple, and Wat Balat. 
 
Travel through beautiful countryside landscapes where life has remained unchanged for generations, passing rice paddies, local workshops and traditional villages. There will also be opportunities to witness everyday Cambodian life through activities including sticky rice preparation, rice wine production, rice paper making and traditional fish paste preparation. 
 
Your visit concludes with the small Angkorian temple of Ek Phnom before enjoying time to explore the charming riverside town itself.

day 7-9 Phnom Penh 

Continue to Phnom Penh, Cambodia’s vibrant capital city, where modern influences blend with historic Khmer culture and French colonial architecture. 
 
Discover the city’s rich history with visits to the Royal Palace and Silver Pagoda, alongside the National Museum which houses one of the world’s most significant collections of Khmer artefacts. You will also have the opportunity to visit Wat Phnom, the city's iconic hilltop pagoda. 
 
Street food remains an important part of Phnom Penh’s daily life and culture. During a private culinary experience led by local chef Mr. Nara, discover the rich diversity of traditional Khmer cuisine and gain a deeper understanding of local life. 
 
You will also experience Koh Dach Island, travelling through peaceful countryside by bicycle. Cross Koh Dach Bridge and explore local villages and landscapes before stopping at a traditional stilt house for lunch.

day 10-15 Koh Samui 

Complete your journey with a relaxing beach stay on the tropical island of Koh Samui. 
 
Following your transfer to Phnom Penh Airport, continue to Koh Samui where you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Located along a peaceful stretch of coastline, your beach resort offers the perfect setting for families to unwind after exploring Cambodia. 
 
Spend the next few days enjoying the slower pace of island life, whether relaxing by the beach or pool, exploring the island or simply making the most of quality family time together. 
 
At the end of your holiday, transfer to the airport for your onward flight home.
