Tailor Made Tour A Rainforest, Reef & Whitsundays Journey 14 nights
About this itinerary
Discover the very best of Tropical North Queensland and the Whitsundays on this unforgettable journey through some of Australia's most extraordinary natural landscapes. From ancient rainforests and vibrant coral reefs to idyllic tropical islands and pristine white-sand beaches, this itinerary has been carefully designed to showcase the incredible diversity of Queensland.
Beginning in Cairns, you'll explore the gateway to the Great Barrier Reef before spending several days soaking up the laid-back charm of Port Douglas. Venture into the ancient Daintree Rainforest, where lush jungle meets the reef, before returning south and continuing to the spectacular Whitsunday Islands.
Your journey culminates with two truly unforgettable experiences: an overnight stay on the Great Barrier Reef, where you'll watch the sun set over the Coral Sea after the day visitors have departed, followed by three nights of barefoot luxury on Hamilton Island, the perfect way to end an extraordinary Australian adventure.
day 1-3 Cairns
Your tropical adventure begins with an overnight flight to Cairns, the vibrant gateway to Far North Queensland. Upon arrival, you'll be transferred to your hotel, where the warm tropical climate, swaying palms and relaxed waterfront atmosphere immediately signal the start of your Australian escape.
Over the next few days, discover the region's incredible natural beauty. Journey aboard the historic Kuranda Scenic Railway before gliding back above the rainforest canopy on the spectacular Skyrail Rainforest Cableway, enjoying breath-taking views across lush valleys, waterfalls and dense tropical forest. Gain a deeper appreciation of the region's Indigenous heritage with a guided cultural experience at Mossman Gorge, where you'll learn about the traditions and stories of the Kuku Yalanji people in one of Australia's oldest rainforests.
For a truly unforgettable perspective, take to the skies on a scenic helicopter flight over the Great Barrier Reef, revealing a patchwork of turquoise lagoons, coral cays and vibrant reefs. As evening falls, unwind along the Cairns Esplanade, where waterfront restaurants provide the perfect setting to enjoy fresh local seafood as the sun sets over the Coral Sea.

For wildlife enthusiasts, a river cruise through the surrounding mangroves offers the chance to spot saltwater crocodiles basking on the riverbanks, whilst early risers can enjoy a peaceful sunrise stroll along the golden sands of Four Mile Beach before another day of adventure begins.

day 7-9 Daintree Rainforest & Cape Tribulation
Continue your journey into the heart of the Daintree Rainforest, the oldest tropical rainforest on Earth and one of Australia's most remarkable natural treasures. Crossing the Daintree River by cable ferry, you'll enter a world that has remained largely unchanged for more than 135 million years, where towering fan palms, ancient ferns and tropical birds create an unforgettable wilderness.
Over the next two days, immerse yourself in this extraordinary landscape through a series of unforgettable experiences. Cruise along the Daintree River in search of saltwater crocodiles, explore hidden boardwalks beneath the rainforest canopy and join a guided walk with a local Kuku Yalanji guide, learning about traditional culture, bush foods and the deep spiritual connection between the Indigenous people and this ancient land.
Further north lies Cape Tribulation, one of the only places on Earth where two UNESCO World Heritage Sites meet. Here, pristine rainforest tumbles onto deserted white-sand beaches, with the Great Barrier Reef lying just offshore. Wander along the shoreline, breathe in the fresh tropical air and simply appreciate the rare beauty of this untouched corner of Australia.
