Welcome to Egypt!
On arrival in Cairo, you will be met by your Tailored Journeys representative who will accompany you, by private vehicle, to your hotel, the Kempinski Nile Hotel Garden City Cairo. Undoubtedly, the children will want to jump straight into the pool. For the parents, they provide poolside drinks at the Kempinski Nile.
A full day guided tour will give you a close-up view of the Great Pyramid one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. You will also visit the Papyrus Museum where your children will learn to write their name in Hieroglyphics. Visit the mysterious Sphinx, before heading to the Khan Khalili Bazaar for a short walk through the souks, and a stop for lunch in a traditional Egyptian restaurant. After lunch, visit the famed Egyptian Museum, the repository of many of the glories of antiquity, including the spectacular treasures of King Tutankhamen. Finally, descend into the past to experience the 11 royal mummies in the world-renowned Mummy Room.

DAY 3-5
LUXOR
Fly from Cairo to the Nile-side city of Luxor. You’ll be glad to know, the hotel is ideal for children. There is a lovely pool and a wide range of culinary delights on offer. Later on, explore the temple complex of Amon-Ra at Karnak and the imposing Temple of Luxor.
You will cross the Nile and visit the West Bank of Luxor. Most famous is, of course, the Valley of the Kings. The little explorers will no doubt love heading into the ancient tombs. See the amazing painted walls, steeped in tales of ancient pharaohs and mysterious gods. You can do as little or as much as their interest takes them. We can also include the Valley of the Queens, the Colossi of Memnon and also the rock-cut temple of Queen Hatshepsut.
You'll have a day to relax by the pool, or, if you prefer, you can head back to the West Bank to see more. Needless to say, your children might want some more excitement too. Perhaps a hot air balloon ride over the temples?
