Maun is the starting point for most expeditions into the Okavango Delta and as a result, has developed into a bustling metropolis that is considered Botswana’s tourism capital.

Area attractions include a renowned riverboat that offers cruises up and down the Thamalakane River; the forest groves of the Maun Game Reserve; and Moremi Game Reserve, home to hippos, lions and rhinos. Maun also serves as the jumping-off point for many safaris and air charters as well as offering private 4x4 rentals. Don’t miss the opportunity to visit the Nhabe Museum exhibiting the local history, art and culture of the Ngamiland region.

KHWAI

From Maun your guide will drive you through to Moremi / Khwai, one of the best wilderness areas of Botswana which contains a variety of different ecosystems.

The next two days will be spent searching for the wide variety of wildlife and birds that this area is renowned for, while absorbing the sounds and beauty of this region. Game drives in the early morning as the sun rises and in the late afternoon as the sun sets will be the norm. Your next freshly prepared meal will usually be waiting for you on return to the camp. Evenings are usually spent round the fire with the group or relaxing with a book in your tent.

Camping will be in private designated campsites with ensuite bush ablutions on each tent.
