OVERVIEW
On the north-eastern boundary of the Central Kalahari Game Reserve, set inside a 43,000-hectare private reserve bordering the Kalahari.
8 luxury thatched chalets, two of which are interleading family units, each raised on stilts, with indoor & outdoor showers, separate lounge areas and verandas.
Morning, afternoon, and night drives; guided walks with San (Bushmen) trackers; cultural immersion; off-road tracking; and star gazing.
More than 200 bird species; chance to see Kalahari lions, cheetahs, leopards, brown hyena, oryx, giraffe etc.
Guests arrive by charter flight into Deception Valley airstrip (30 min from Maun) followed by a short drive.
Because it sits in a private concession (versus inside a national park), the lodge offers more flexibility (night drives, extended walks) than many protected areas.
