Camp Kalahari
OVERVIEW
On Brown Hyena Island (also called Hyena Island), on the edge of the Makgadikgadi Salt Pans in the eastern Kalahari.
12 Meru-style canvas tents: 6 twin tents, 4 double tents, and 2 family tents.
Game drives (day & night), walks with San (Bushmen) in ancient landscapes, meerkat encounters (the habituated ‘Kalahari cool cats’), quad biking on pans (seasonal), stargazing, horse riding.
During wet/green season, zebra & wildebeest migration passes through; “desert specials” include brown hyenas, bat-eared foxes, oryx, cheetah, Kalahari lions among others.
Reachable by light aircraft (from Maun 50 min) then road transfer (20 min) to camp.
