Chobe National Park
One of the largest national parks in Botswana comprising of a huge variety of ecosystems. The riverfront area along the country’s northern border has excellent boat safaris and boasts one of the densest elephant populations in the world. Further inland the mix of open savannah, swamps and mopane forest make for some of the most diverse and wildlife rich habitats in Africa.
Dry season April – October. Wildlife viewing along the Riverfront area improves as several tributaries and waterholes dry up and the sunsets over the river are magical. The Savuti area is excellent for big game viewing and with few camps, always feels exclusive. The riverfront can feel busy at peak times.
Wet season November – March. Big game disperse away from the riverfront but there are excellent gatherings around the Savuti marshes, particularly from the Zebra migration on their way south to the salt flats. Birthing season attracts predators and migratory birds arrive in huge numbers.
